Finding a teacher for private lessons

If you are interested in private tuition in any language, please contact us by email. Please include details about your previous experience in the language, what you have learned so far and what your current goals in the language are. After you have sent us your information, a teacher will contact you to arrange a meeting, where you can decide what is best for you.

The first meeting takes place in the SKB office and helps our staff to get an idea of what you want and to assess your level. If you find the meeting satisfactory and decide to go ahead with private lessons, the SKB will charge a one-time fee of 20 Euros. Should you decide to wait or search elsewhere, there will be, of course, absolutely no charge. Taking lessons in pairs is only possible if both people are at approximately the same level.

After a successful meeting, a written agreement will be made in which the conditions and payments of the lessons are made clear. The SKB only helps you to make the initial connection and is therefore not party to the agreement. This is also the reason why the SKB can NOT provide a room for private lessons. The place and cost of lessons is between the teacher and the student. However, the SKB would recommend the following as guidelines:

  • Hourly price (45 minutes): 25-35 Euros
  • An initial agreement to a minimum of 6 hours
  • Pairs pay 20 Euros an hour per person.

The SKB sees these guidelines as fair. However, in the end, it is up to the teacher to set the price. Furthermore, additional costs of transportation and materials may also be considered.
