Chinese calligraphy is considered a highly valued and traditional art form in Chinese culture that has evolved over thousands of years and has been influenced by various historical eras and artistic movements. Calligraphy involves the skillful use of brush and ink to create aesthetically pleasing and harmonious characters.

In this workshop, calligrapher Jiannyuh brings you together to experience the art of calligraphy that spans thousands of years of Chinese history, to experience Chinese philosophy and aesthetics, and to find inner peace in the leap of the brushstroke.

Host of the workshop:
Jiannyuh (He/They), co-curator of the Future East Festivals, Calligrapher and mixed-media performer from Shanghai, China, based in Berlin. Her artistic journey is an exploration of traditional calligraphy, vibrant painting and captivating physical performances. Jiannyuh wields the calligraphy brush with reverence and innovation, creating a bridge between cultures and a space for open dialog.
